What's New

New in Reservation Genie

Features and improvements as they ship — newest first.

Live Signing Mode for Waivers

Checking in a group on site? Waivers now have a live signing mode built for tablets at the dock or front desk. Hand the device over, each guest signs, and the form resets itself for the next person — no emailing links around, no shared browser history between guests.

What to do: Open a reservation's details page and tap its waiver signing link on a tablet — each guest signs in turn and the form resets for the next one.

Employee Scheduling Calendar

Scheduling your staff no longer means a whiteboard next to the computer. The new calendar view puts your tours, rentals, and charters on a month or week grid where you assign guides and crew right in place — copy a week forward, print the day's lineup, and let employees mark their own availability so you only ever pick from people who can actually work the slot.

What to do: Open your Tours, Rentals, or Charters page and switch to the calendar view to start assigning staff.

Invoices for Direct Reservations

Taking a booking over the phone or at the counter? When you enter a reservation directly, you can now send the guest an invoice instead of collecting a card on the spot. They get an email with a secure payment link, and the reservation's details page shows when the invoice went out — with one-click resend if it gets buried in their inbox.

What to do: Choose "Send Invoice" as the payment status when entering a reservation.

Online Rental Bookings

Rentals are now a first-class part of Reservation Genie. Set up your fleet with durations and schedules, and customers book online through the same smooth flow as tours — with live availability so a kayak never gets promised twice. Manage rental reservations, overrides, and pricing from their own tab in your dashboard.

Branded Booking Subdomains

Your booking page can now live on your own domain. Instead of sending guests from your website over to reservationgenie.com, bookings happen at book.yourdomain.com — your brand from first click to confirmation. And because the whole journey stays on your domain, tracking follows it end to end: where a guest came from — a Google or Facebook ad, a referral link, a search — travels with them from the moment they land on your site all the way through to the completed booking, so your reports show exactly which channels are selling.

What to do: Nothing — your booking subdomain is already set up and your booking links already point to it. Enjoy the better tracking!

Refund Reservations

Guest cancels, weather turns, plans change — refunds happen. Now you can process one right where you already are: every paid reservation has a Refund Payment button in its row controls and actions menu. Confirm the amount — the full payment or a custom partial amount — and the money goes back to the guest's card, with an email confirmation sent to them automatically. A refund password keeps the button locked down, so only staff you trust with it can process refunds.

What to do: Turn on refund processing and set your refund password under Settings → Refunds, then look for the Refund Payment button on any paid reservation.

Private Charter Management

Private charters get their own home in Reservation Genie. Capture charter requests from your website, quote and track each one through its lifecycle, assign boats and crew, offer add-on packages, and collect payment — all from the Charters tab alongside your regular tours.

Rebuilt From the Ground Up

The biggest change of all is the one under everything else on this page: Reservation Genie has been rebuilt from scratch on a modern stack — a decade’s leap in the framework the app runs on. Pages load fast, updates appear in place instead of reloading the whole screen, and the redesigned interface works just as well on the phone in your pocket or the tablet at the dock as it does at the front desk. Same reservations, faster and friendlier — and the foundation for everything that follows on this timeline.
