We didn't have any reservations and just walked in and they were able to find us room at the bar. The bartender Luke was very attentive and the food was excellent! We had the octopus and eggpalnt as appetizers and linguine and salmon for main course. We recommend all of them especially the main courses were exceptional. The chocolate suffle was also amazing. The ambiance was very friendly. The food overall is very very good for your neighborhood restaurant.

I had a very nice dining experience there last night. I ordered the red snapper which was delicious! This place is now my favorite seafood restaurant in the neighborhood.
Susan Zevon
Delicious fresh fish, vegetables and salad. Attentive staff. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

This is a new place with beautiful decor, delicious food and super cool staff. One of my favorite spots

The home made veggie burger and the cocktails were fantastic! The staff is attentive and very professional. Great place...

What a gem! This place has only been open for 3 months and they're firing on all cylinders. We ordered cocktails, starters and a couple main dishes. The only thing we didn't do was dessert and coffee. Everything was excellent and the wait staff was great. Highly recommended.
Jody Formica
Didn't live up to the hype. Good food, but not amazing. It's certainly a fun bar though. Charming bartender.
Ira Tau
This is a great spot with delicious food, fun drinks and friendly staff. We have been here a couple of times and this last time we sat at the bar and we're served by the very attentive and attractive bartender Luke. You won't be sorry.
Lorraine Horwitz
We didn't realize the kitchen closed an hour before the actual closing time, but they served us anyways. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious drinks! Very friendly and made our visit memorable.

Awesome place, great friendly vibe! Good drinks. Haven't tried the food yet. Ask for Luke!

I came to this place recently and I was very impessed. Place is charming, decorations with designer touch. Shadmoor has tasty seafood to offer. Prices are reasonable for this neighbourhood. I had grilled octopus for appetizer and branzini for main course. This is my #1 place on a list if I want to go out with my girl or bring friends who visiting me in the city. In addition amazing cocktails and excellent service. I was there on Thursday evening and had a dinner at the bar. Place was packed and I didn't have a reservation but they were so nice and let me in. Next time I will definitely make a reservation in advance.
Charles Mailhot
Cocktails, food and service were all amazing. Really recommend the place.

Stopped in for a quick bite, late lunch. Beet salad with a grilled chicken breast with a glass of red wine. Very fresh, very good. Well worth the stop.

Awesome atmosphere, amazing food and service out of this world. This is officially my new favorite place.
Arthur Hurley
I love the decor. The food (I had the burger and calamari) was terrific. The service was great!! I will be returning.

Swordfish was pretty good! Wait staff was courteous and accommodating.

Found this gem of a place on our last night in NY. Highly recommend this place. Great food and atmosphere. Next time we are in NY we'll def be going back. Thanks Luke for a great experience.
William Paul Harkins
Excellent food; somewhat overbearing service; price high but the food makes it worthwhile.

For great food and ambience, friendly staff, and above all, a wonderful time, The Shadmoor is the best. As a foodie and purveyor of liquor, I can attest that the Shadmoor spares no detail in delivering a wonderful experience. Ask for Alexandra, Jack, or Lucas. They will meet your every need. My highest and most enthusiastic endorsement. Thank you Shadmoor. I will come back again and again.

I love this place from the first time I've been there. Food is always fresh and stuff are very friendly. Whenever I've asked for something I've had it right away. It is great place to hang out with friends for a brunch, go for a date or celebrate holidays with family!
Nicholas Luna
I love the u-shaped bar, which made happy hour service enjoyable to watch. The fried calamri were perfect, so we had to order two.
Natan Okuniewski
After morning run in central park (Run as One) I went for a brunch to this place last sunday with my friends. We choose few different items (always wanna try few things in a new place) like salmon burger, eggs benedict and omelette. Salmon was delicate and tasty, eggs benedict very well made and omelette full loaded, for a dessert we took french toast full of chocolate and caramelized apples, together with coffee (which was also good) it was a nice culmination of our afternoon. Im ver happy that we found this place and probably will be back soon after our another run.

Very good NY steak, but for my taste I would prefer a little bit more salty/spiced. Delicious truffled fries and great place to have some wine!!
Walt Kaplan
Great meal. High quality ingredients, well cooked and reasonable prices. Will return
Bill Stanko
Very good. Small place. Had to special which was a whole fish and it was a whole fish.
Jane Sohn
Super cute place, great food

I bought a Groupon and didn't expect too much. I was surprised by the quality of their service, the food and ambiance. This place is relatively new and they are still establishing themselves in the neighborhood, it is cozy, charming and welcoming. We had oysters- excellent!, I had meetballs - they were not overcooked and were delicious. Wine selection is decent. The place is not cheap - in all senses of the word.

Took my family here for a nice birthday meal on our visit to the city. Great, cozy decor, excellent drinks, solid service, and nice menu at a relatively affordable price. We loved it!
Sean Buckley
Excellent staff, fast service, great atmosphere. It’s been a while since I felt really welcome at a restaurant - felt more like a local family restaurant than NYC. Pierogies (sp?) were amazing, meatballs were just OK
Wojtek Mąkosa
Love this place. Interior is great, nice and friendly staff. We had shrimp king salad and surf burger both perfect. Great place for brunch amazing service and delicious eggs Scandinavia.
Crissi Beth
I just went to the bar here, so my review can only speak to that. The bartenders were very friendly and pretty attentive. I enjoyed the regulars who were at the bar. I feel like this bar manages to be pretty approachable yet keep an upscale feel. They have nice happy hour specials, I had a $6 margarita. The bathroom door is really fun because it is a bookcase that is mounted on a door. I'd be happy to stop back here for a drink anytime.
Jason Diaz
Gotta say that the food, service, atmosphere and the bartender were all amazingly superb! What a great time with a party of five. They accommodated every want/need. The octopus and the scallops stood out as better than almost any place I've ever been to. The nautical decor was just right. Not over the top or cheesy. Love this place and can't wait to go back.
Vladimir Chalyshev
Very friendly personnel and fast service. The food quality is also on the top level. Had a grilled Scottish salmon which was delicious! The bonus points are for the decor inside the restaurants. Would definitely come back on my next visit to NYC.
Maria Cole
Nice spot for date night or small group. Seafood-heavy menu. Octopus app was very good, incredibly tender. Fresh creamy burrata. Nice salmon entree. Friendly and attentive service.
Leticia
Beautiful space and great seafood. I got a seafood salad and it was mind blowing. Bonus: we went there for brunch and it was quiet and not hectic which is rare for more traditional brunch spots in nyc
Ashley Ljungbäck
The fish came with no sides. Not a big deal but would have liked for it to be called out. The food was delicious and had a cozy atmosphere.
Elizabeth Tramantano
Food and service were outstanding! Everything was fresh and the recommendations from our waiter were on point. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Krumrie's Leg
Great find by accident! I happened to walk by and see their daily happy hour specials. $1.25 oysters & $5 Heineken! I couldn't resist! The oysters were super fresh & some of the best I've ever had! The staff was super friendly. They had nice prices & the atmosphere was very welcoming. I would go far out of my way to go back there!
Peter Gegovic
Incredible service and delicious food... bartender Jason was remarkable and gave us top notch service and drinks.. I highly recommend this place
Dorline B
Great quality of oysters. Place has a nice ambience. Want to go back because I had mouth surgery and cdn't eat or try the drinks. Food smelled delicious
Steven Berger
Nice local place. Freshest clams on the half shell. Wonderful grilled octopus and tuna tartare. Fish fresh and simple. Service attentive and helpful. Go here!
Ashley Mitchell
Amazing food and service. I wouldn't order the lobster roll again, but I would definitely order the tuna on crack and octopus again. The ambiance and attentive staff are superb. I will definitely be back.
Josh Berger
The food here is pretty good. Went in as I had heard the burger was good. The place looked as though it was straight out of Hawaii. It honestly was really nice. The burger itself was not bad. The price is really the only downside. There also isn't much of a local craft beer selection. Come here if you're looking for great seafood.
Alex Young
First time... It's clear Shadmpor has a loyal following. Service, specials, solid menu part of reason why.
Laurie Quinn
Excellent food and great service friendly staff. Really nice Hamptons theme
Gracie Joseph
We felt really rushed after we finished eating and there were PLENTY of empty tables available. Very impolite. I will not be rushing to go back anytime soon!
ghilles ainouche
This place is amazing, they probably serve the best octopus in the city, everything is just perfect from the delicious well presented dishes to the service, I love going there the servers are very friendly and professional I always enjoy discussing science with Ali my favorite waiter, Jack the owner always make sure that we are having a great time, like I said great not good but unforgettable experience.
Ehud Kaminer
A very nice place to sit and chill, the food is good, but the staff was excellent, so all in all a good place
Bill O'Brien
I live in the neighborhood and this is my go to seafood restaurant It’s excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and friendly service.
Ross Freiman
Food is good but they need to work on quality / prep. Had numerous bones left in my fish and almost choked on one.
Shuo Zhang
Easy going manager. Fresh seafood. I really like the salmon.
Ivan Collins
We finally made it into the Shadmoor and very glad we did. The restaurant offers a smaller footprint with maybe 15-20 tables and a cozy bar. Staff were very friendly, a manager checked in on us a few times and answered my prying questions about making aioli. Ambiance was nice but not over the top in a stuffy way of any sort. We ordered a fried calamari that was exceptional. Just a light dose of batter to give it a delicate crunch without drowning out the flavor of the calamari. They make a great basil pesto like aioli to go with it. I wouldn't mind taking a jar of that home. I also had the grilled baby octopus that was lights out. Very colorful dish, grilled to perfection, that melted in your mouth. My girlfriend had the french onion soup which comes in the typical cute bowl and was golden brown. Seemed a little risky to order a french item at a seafood place, but it was right on target. I don't think these guys let anything escape the kitchen less than perfect. I also tried a craft Moscow mule that seemed to have the right balance of ginger and kapow. My only regret is that we dined during lunch. I want to try this menu for dinner next.

We came here for an after-dinner snack and to watch the game. The beautifully decorated restaurant had a homey and quaint feel. I loved the beautiful decoration and while, the restaurant was on the small in size, they utilized the space beautifully. Since we weren't having a full dinner, we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender, Jason, was very friendly and nice. I ordered the Iron Skillet Shrimp for $18. I was surprised by how small the portion size was. I felt like 3 shrimp for $18 was pretty steep. I thought the shrimp and the chickpeas were different and tasty. I wasn't fond of the reddish-purple sauce on the plate. The menu said it was roasted peppers but, it reminded me of beets. I might come back again if I am in the neighborhood but, I will stick to the $30 prix fixe dinner or the happy hour special.

Food is great and they have an awesome happy hour! Elio is the most patient and kind waiter. I appreciate his service which is rare in NYC. Love him!
Kristin Haran
Good brunch food and menu but no dairy free milk!
Geoff D
Great atmosphere, great service and great food! Food is delicious but not pretentious.
JK Hegarty
GREAT FOOD! Service was friendly & timely. I will return with more friends.
Mark Dimont
Great branzino and pleasant environment in midtown east. Felt cozy and the staff were warm. Cool secret bathroom doors.
Daniel Correa
Well prepared and presented food in a comfortable setting. An excellent atmosphere. The service is good with attentive but not over bearing staff. A bit pricy nut I would recommend it.

Great lucky find, we stumbled on this restaurant by luck. The mood is very nice, it’s a very nice and warm set-up. The food was great across the board. One hiccup, we ordered the two course lunch menu offer but were charged for full cost of 4 full plates because the waiter “misunderstood” what we meant by lunch menu despite them having it clearly written on a chalkboard.
Rufus Petty
This spot is great and roomy, the menu was enchanting and the rates were very inexpensive. quickly, productive service and very personal staff. Recommended.

The Shadmoor is a delicious American seafood restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was great. The ambiance is nautically themed and pleasant. To begin, the raw oysters were good (though not the best shucked ever), and the octopus appetizer was fancifully presented and very tasty. However my main course, the swordfish steak, was amazing and definitely the star of the show. Juicy and delicious, topped with capers in a butter lemon sauce. The regular steak was surprisingly good, too, especially for a seafood place- better than a steak au poivre that I had a French restaurant not long ago. Highly recommended!

Well prepared and presented food in a comfortable setting. An excellent atmosphere. The service is good with attentive but not over bearing staff. A bit pricy but I would recommend it.

Last week was the first time we visited this restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the generous service, with the magnificent meal and wine and with the decent cost. We will no doubt go back there soon.
Terrel Sykes
The service and the food was great. Their outdoor seating and adherence to social distancing made this experience very comfortable.
Marina Dmitrieva
I’ve got a very nice service and I was put at the table immediately Oysters were delicious but I took only half dozen because of the price (18$ for 6 pieces) Not sure if they have happy hours now Also ordered octopus and enjoyed it Just one thing I was unhappy about it’s a waiting time about 25min to get oysters and 15min after to get octopus Total check was 40$ Ok for Manhattan’s restaurant with good atmosphere I didn’t take any drinks but food was definitely good and no need to lower rating for the waiting time
Ameya Bhakay
Went here on a Saturday evening at around 5:30 pm: a pretty good time to go since you can even get a table with walk-in. We however, made a reservation for 5:30. They have a pretty good outdoor seating space on a nice tree-lined street and we were seated at a good table. We got a bottle of Pinot Grigio ($43) and a bottle of Rose ($47) which were served in a nice ice-cold bucket. For sides, we got the Grilled Veggies ($7) with Trio Dips which comes with toasted pita ($10) and Caramelized Brussels Sprouts ($7). The sprouts were okay I felt, contrary to all other reviews that raved about them. For mains, we got Steamed Mussels ($17) and wanted it with the coconut curry sauce, which unfortunately wasn't available and got it with the tomato basil sauce instead. People who ate it weren't that impressed with the mussels. The Grilled Salmon ($28) on the other hand was thoroughly enjoyed and disappeared within a few mins after it was served. I got the Beet Salad ($15) which was excellent - highly recommended for vegetarians! Service was excellent and food arrived within 20-mins of placing our order. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

It’s very tough to run a restaurant now. But this place does pretty well. My preference is to come earlier before it gets too crowded. But even at 6pm, most tables are booked.
Dirk
Nice Irish pub, sitting outside in a quiet street. Perfect fish’n chips. Good draft beers.
Jacob Landsman
The food and service was solid but my girlfriend ordered the avocado toast which was pathetically small for how expensive it was. 16 dollars for a tiny piece of bread with some avocado and eggs is ridiculous. Do not order the avocado toast here.
Sarah
Amazing seafood salad for lunch. Great cocktails. Cute outdoor dining space
Cathie Staiano
Just Loved it! Doggies Allowed!
Brett Cline
Nice outdoor seating area, service was alright.

Been here twice so far with my wife. The food is absolutely delicious! We tried 9 dishes so far and 8 of them were AMAZING! Everything is super fresh and portioned perfectly for up to 4 in my opinion. We usually order 4 appetizers for the both of us instead of a main and its more than enough. The service is efficient and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend!
Hannah Rose Schonwald
Amazing food and delicious cocktails. Great service and atmosphere. Perfect restaurant for celebrating or for a nice brunch.
Alice S
Felt very safe, the brunch food was great, and it was warm enough even in January with the outdoor heaters.
nasyaw smalley
The decor was better than the dining. If not for the ambience I would've give 3 stars.
Nasir Lawson
This spot sure knows how to take care of their customers. Always with a very welcoming mindset. The food is affordably priced, constantly yummy and neat.
Leslie Moore
Went to this restaurant for valentines Day , service was excellent and food was amazing. Restaurant seemed cozy and romantic. I highly recommend :)
Mariel Synan
Excellent happy hour deals on food and drinks - and generous wine pours! Loved the tuna on crack
Amy Roberts
Cocktails were great but we had a couple oysters that caused us not to finish the rest of our dozen.
Janice Brooks
The atmosphere is great for conversations. The food is good but comes in small portions at moderate prices.

Can't beat the happy hour from 4-6pm. Everything from the happy hour menu was amazing. Will recommend it and will definitely be back for more!
Victoria
Great restaurant, loved the seafood! Staff was excellent, especially the hostess Kiara
Paul Rigano
Delightful experience! The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, and the outdoor space very comfortable. A bit pricey, but hey, it's midtown east. A perfect spot for a nice lunch.
James Song
Happy hour is nice but the oysters had no flavor. Ordered 24- all of them tasted like they were raised in fresh water. Also no air-conditioning, so if it's a hot day, you're gna be hot. Burger sliders were good.
Chuck Fogle
Food is excellent, service was slow. Had to ask 3-4 times for water, more bread and even the check. Understand the pandemic is effecting staff but I question if that is the real issue.
Hannie R.
A lovely place! We sat for a beer, and added the grilled calamari, which was very tasty. The only thing that was annoying, was the service... The waiters were nice, but it took them ages to bring the check, and then to get the payment... But, it was a great evening, with great live music.

My wife and I visited The Shadmoor for dinner on 8/13/21. We were offered indoor and outdoor seating and we choose indoor. They seated us near the back of the restaurant in an intimate corner with a good amount of date lighting (dark but not too dark). We were quickly served waters and ordered cocktails. The drinks were great and I ended up getting three different cocktails during dinner. We ordered a salad, the cast iron shrimp, and two dozen oysters. The food was incredible and the staff worked very hard to provide great service. It was truly a 5-star meal, and as an oyster-lover that no longer lives on the east coast, the oysters were fantastic. Strongly recommend to any locals and tourists that are craving oysters or seafood + cocktails.
Marilyn Kane
Wonderful oysters and great cocktails. There is a very good outdoor space for a lovely happy hour or dinner visit.

Three eggs omelette: with tomato's, olives and feta cheese is fantastic. The eggs are cooked perfectly and the addition of ingredients are not overbearing. Five of five stars. Country style sausage: cooked well, however sausage is a bit salty. Overall, four of five stars. Hand cut french fries: well seasoned, not too salty. French fries are cut thin, which is somehow a good thing. Overall, five of five stars. Pinot Grigio: a good year but relatively new and not aged as a good white should be, served chilled as it should be. Overall, four of five stars.
Jenny Luu
The place has a cute cozy vibe. They served this bread with olive oil with our drinks and it was delicious. The drink I got was okay. It was like a watermelon cocktail; it was a little bit too strong for my liking.
Christina Jones
I’ve only popped in here during brunch for a drink. I was really in the mood for mussels and they didn’t really have any seafood on their brunch menu. I live close by so I’ll have to come back so that I can actually try the food. It’s a lovely place, super cool bathroom, and is always a popular place.

We all really wanted to like it, but one thing went wrong after another. We asked for everything to come out in the order in which it would be ready. Salads could come out first, since they don’t have to be cooked. We also asked for the kid’s meal to be prioritized. Instead, nothing came out until everything came out. And some of the hot food was like warm, as if it had been waiting somewhere for a while. The kid’s meal came out last. We waited about 50 minutes for any food to come out. Then there were strange things like someone coming over with more coffee, but walking away after refilling only one person’s cup. The food was ok. One of the omelets was a strange pale color as if it consisted mostly of egg whites, though that wasn’t the description on the menu. It didn’t quite taste right either. Zucchini pancakes were not quite what I expected either, I guess a different recipe. Seafood salad was not bad, but had exactly 1 shrimp. Fries were decent, though inconsistent— some were dry and hard, others good. Salmon burger was ok, but would have been better if it were warmer. Eggs Benedict didn’t receive any complaints. Overall, we were disappointed. The saving grace was that the waiter seemed to genuinely care that things went wrong, asked us about it, and got us two desserts on the house to make up for it. That was a nice touch.

Delicious oysters and perfect atmosphere. Very kind stuff. Best place to eat and enjoy your time in NYC. Thanks for this experience.
fernando babilonia
Been having a craving for oysters for the first time in a few years and the hunt was on. Stumbled upon the Shadmoor and tried it out... Loved it had to order more because the oysters were better than I remembered. Service a little slow but the food was worth it!( Only reason not 5)
Carole Johnson
My 1st review ever! bcuz we had such a delightful dinner here - we had the best waitress ever - Gianni! Absolutely lovely, professional and friendly. And the food and drinks were delicious. It was such an impressive evening. And such a cute restaurant. Great crowd... It was all good. Thank you Shadmoor. We look forward to more!
Janet Fox
Our lunch was great—everything was excellent. Enjoyed the specialty lemonade cocktail. Loved the crab cake appetizer. The salmon burger and angus brisket were perfect, and the profiteroles were to die for! Great service, highly recommended. We will definitely be back!!
Ben Vance
Nice and relaxing place to dine particularly the happy hour. Everything on the happy hour menu floats around the $10 mark and are all delicious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Recommend checking this place out for a relaxing happy hour in a somewhat modern Mediterranean/Pacifica environment.
Carly Pisarri
This place was a 2.5 at best but I rounded up. The portions were small, the table was small and couldn’t even fit the plate which is something in and of itself, and the service was pretty slow. Maybe it was an off day but the calamari was good and the decor was cute. It’s not enough for me to return though.
A.B. Brown
Good food. Good prices. Dulal was a great waiter. Wish the kitchen crew would’ve gotten our orders correct the first time. Other than that it wasn’t too bad
Alexandra Rogers
First time at this lovely neighborhood sports. It feels like a little vacation. We ate outside on a beautiful tree lined block in a covered eating area. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We really enjoyed our food. I got the zucchini pancakes, reccomended by the waitress Giana. Great pick! My husband had the crab benedict...not a piece left. We followed it up with a delicious apple strudel. We will definitely go back.
TAYLOR BARTOE
I took my mother and family here on mother’s day. The whole staff was super accommodating- they even let us order off of the dinner menu despite it being a pre fix during brunch hours. We had to order another Grilled octopus appetizer as it was one of the best i’ve ever had. We ordered 4 different appetizers and 6 entrees and everyone was blown away with their dish. From the crabs eggs benedict, swordfish sandwich to the Chicken The Shadmoor has something for everyone. The cocktails are just as delicious. Our server Gigi really made our experience memorable- I will be requesting her from now on!
Cesar Desouza
We found this place. We were starving. The tables are small and there is no room for food and drinks. Staff very attentive. Overprice place. Appetizers: Watermelon Salad, Half Oysters Raw. For entrees: Angus Steak and Lobster Roll. Three glasses of wine. The food was Fresh, nutritious and tasty. Total paid $180 + 35 tip.
Amy Chang
A very cozy spot for a romantic date or a nice chat with friends. Servers give the right amount of attention. Shadmoor Smash cocktail is a nice refreshing gin drink and they’re oysters were fresh and flavorful. We did a mix of appetizers to share and it was a perfect meal with our drinks. Will definitely return.
