About Arabesque
Building on the success of New York City’s acclaimed Barbes Restaurant, Omar Balouma & Abdellah Ksiyer introduce Arabesque, named for the art form defined by a complex ornamental design of intertwined flowing lines & geometric figures originally found in Moorish decoration. Arabesque Restaurant resonates this in its architecture, decor and menu with a modern Moorish dining room, a traditional Moroccan lounge and a menu that carefully intertwines North African, Middle Eastern & Mediterranean cuisines.

I come here every time I'm in town. Great food, great hookah, great service. I don't get the bad reviews, I've always had a great experience here. Wether it's a slow night or busy night they always go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of. I tried a different hookah/food lounge nearby last night and was greatly disappointed. Came back here tonight and had another amazing experience. Rule of thumb, treat people with respect and they'll do the same to you.

Amazingly gifted DJ that sang at least 5 different languages while playing the piano and drums, belly dancing was a good show food was well priced, but it seemed like everything needed more salt. The lamb meatballs were the best dish (my family and I ordered a lot of different dishes). Not giving a full 5 stars because it was way too hot in the back room (only 1 AC for that room all while hot hookah coals were everywhere). Really enjoyable nevertheless as everyone got up and danced. Will go back with a date someday.

It was a beautiful place! And we had our Christmas party there.. the food was great and service was fast. My only issur was that soke of the waiters were rude towards the end asking when we are going to leave. Tacky!

Nice decorations and courteous staff. Food is special and taste good.
Emad Karim
Good vibe and delicious Moroccan food. The shisha is a bit more expensive than other places but the staff are friendly and attentive.

I have been to this place a couple of times. It's kind of a hit and miss. Sometimes we had a blast, other times the hookah wasn't good, or the waitress burnt our hookah and then asked us to buy another. I would still recommend this place, since the hookah is nice and the dessert with the corn chips is delicious.

The ambiance is great - the food is okay though it leaves a lot to be wished for. I ordered a Kale salad, Steak, Strawberry Creme Caramel, and Mint Tea. The tea was the best! Steak was good but the vegetables were not a la dent and fries weren't 'fait maison' rather appeared to be from Mc Donald's (which I don't want to be reminded of !). The creme caramel was okay. Great staff however - courteous and smiling.

Serves very good Hookah. The food is OK. Nothing you'd miss. However surprisingly for a Moroccan restaurant their Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto was really nice. However the place has a lovely middle eastern charm and the staff is very pleasant.

Lovely atmosphere, especially in the alcoves on the side. Hookahs / Mediterranean snacks are nice, and place is ideal for those who are uncertain between going to a bar or a restaurant
Lina Beydoun
Great food and ambience but very expensive shisha
Tarik Marzokah
Nice place, cool Moroccan vibe and decoration. Pretty expensive. $40 hookah!

Arabesque is a high-roller and dressy hookah establishment. They cater to an older crowd, or younger crowd with money. The hookah itself was good, the service is also great and the belly dancer was phenomenal! Sultana is talented and impressive with her various belly dancing, her ability to keep the audience captivated and smiling, and keeping to the beat of live drumming.

Great food, great ambiance, strong service, reasonable prices.

Great service and great food also good hookah

Awesome time here with friends... The bartender Orealli was supper friendly and helpful! Belly dancer was also greatly entertaining! I really love the vibe here... I plan on returning.

The atmosphere is nice, decor and service is good, but the food really lacks flavour and authenticity. I've tried other, less expensive Moroccan places and you can really taste the flavour at it's fullest. Was a nice first time try experience, definitely will be the last.
Majid Lakhani
Pretty pricey but the quality, ambience and service are great
Scott Meller
Food was phenomenal. Terrific Moroccan cuisine, and an easy walk from and to Penn Station.

I was here with my friends one Saturday night. You get the authentic morrocan experience here; from the ambience to the food & the music. The guys who were serving were great with their service and attentive to customers. Reason it gets 5stars. They had a live performance (it was a Saturday night). They serve hookers (for those who like hookers) & their meals and drinks are good. The place is small and intimate however so if you're just out for food & drinks, you can always go across the street to barbes which is also owned by the same owner, given a more french-morrocan restaurant feel. Arabesque is more of a lounge & bar but barbes is strictly a restaurant & serves drinks as well.

Great lamb brochettes. Very chilled ambiance and great service.
Anda Totoreanu
Fantastic food but extremely pricey.
Mishal J. Kamdar
Great service and great ambience. The bartenders and waiters are great. Loved the belly dancing as well. Wish there was more space.
Ari Freedman
Great service. Very very friendly place. They speak several languages and have been their a few times as they have good food as well
Merih Uctum
Nice decoration, good environment for lunch or dinner where you can have a normal conversation, quick service and good food but way too expensive.

Absolutely beautiful and calming place, especially on weekdays when it’s not too crowded. The arabic music and the atmosphere in general is very relaxing and the stuff is very friendly. So happy I found this place.

Great Moroccan restaurant with beautiful Moroccan decor and vibe. Food is really good and staff is always super sweet and bends backwards to make your experience pleasurable.

Tasty food. We had a nice waiter. Belly dancer was quick but entertaining.
Lisa Wairimu
My sister and I dined at this romantic restuarant last night. Authentic morrocan fare. Absolutely excellent service.
maha m
Very nice place and people who work there are very polite and friendly.
Lorna Katz
Good food, but if you have a large party, they automatically attach a 20% gratuity to your bill, not 18% which is standard.
Manisha Malik
Oh I loved it so much! Such music, I danced for hours! Great hookah, great staff. Amazing music! Try the peppermint Cosmo!
Cherrelle Davis
Always great service. Tasty food and beautiful ambiance.

This place has pretty good food a bit pricey for my range but again you get what you pay for, I would recommend this place is a nice place to go out with your significant other or your friends it's just an all-around nice place to hang out with long with nice food I do recommend this place so yummy

Went here on a busy Saturday night, yet the service was superb. Friendly staff. Great tea. Lovely place. Will definitely return!❤️

Service is good our host Nadia she was so helpful and professional excellent food and shisha
Michael Sinensky
Great all around middle eastern spot - hummus, babaganoush, garlic shrimp, grilled calamari, burrata was all awesome. Great sharing dishes. Will definitely be back.

Casual hookah lounge, service is choppy, food is good enough, if you order the right thing . Fun place to dance and the atmosphere is good on Friday nights
Kristina Bailey
Food was great, service was excellent, and the restaurant is beautiful

If Rashed is there you will enjoy your night

Very pricy! Though the setting is pretty good. We were here during the non peak hour so we couldn’t see the dance performance that’s typically starts at 9:30pm. The lower star is for higher price (at least they should have happy hour). And regarding the food, it’s not exceptional but good.

Great place and amazing ambiance!! I celebrated my birthday last week here and had a great time, I definitely recommend this place.
Anser Khaan
My first experience with Moroccan cuisine. Not bad al all though a bit pricy. Our server was awesome, she took time to explain every thing in detail. The sheesha, the starters the main course and then finally the tea. All deserve 5 stars. I have only taken one star away for the fact that the gratuity was high at 18% while we were a group of only four.

We didn’t have a terrible experience here tonight, just an above average one. On the plus side, the ambiance was pleasant, we arrived early at 8pm on Saturday and the place was quiet. It did start to fill up by 9pm. Cocktails were great and the food was a bit better than average (for those looking for an authentic Moroccan meal, this might not be the place). Staff were accommodating. Good place for a 1st date. Appetizers were average. Nothing mind blowing, but not unpleasant. Mains are good for 2 but again, you won’t be disappointed however certainly don’t expect to be blown away.
Eden Menaged
The atmosphere in this place is very authentic. We had a good time and the food was delicious. there was a belly dancer who has added to the atmosphere in the enjoyment of the food. The music was a tad bit loud but nothing to major. When we received the bill to our amazement the hookah was $50 not including the extra fruit head. That's the one who enjoys hookah I know that this price is unfairly expensive even for the city. Before we ordered the hookah we asked for a hookah menu and the waitress has responded that they have no such thing and I guess this is the reason why. We for sure would have left that place if we would have known beforehand. Would have gave this place five stars if not for this.
Ana Liz Figueroa
Good Food and Vegetarian Dishes were great. However, the show is 1:15 hours late the down side of the restaurant. I bought tickets and the tickets were announcing the show at 7:00, and I just got news from the nice waiter that the show will be at 8:15 pm.
Shainice Laylor
Amazing restaurant. Food was great! I got shrimp, steak and couscous!!! Hookah was good, energy was good, belly dancer was awesome and waitress Nadia was so pleasant!!
Maurice Reid
I can't speak on authenticity of the food but it's flavor is a bit disappointing. More attention is given to presentation and atmosphere than the actual flavors. The decor and overall atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. The staff was attentive and courteous. The vegetable portion for the steak entree is ridiculously small. I literally got only 3 small pieces of mushrooms, 3 small slices of carrots, about 4 to 5 string beans and 2 small broccoli. The steak was a decent size and was "well done" just as I ordered. The fries were are delicious though they also came in a small portion size bowl. Overall it's was an"okay" experience. Nothing special.
Abhijit Borude
Great place for hookah and Mediterranean food. The DJ is awesome here along with the dance performers. They were happy to take our requests and got involved with the crowd. Menu seemed little limited though and liquor on the expensive side. You will end up spending about 75 to 100 bucks per person. Overall it was a great experience!
Ferdaus Bashar
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday and I absolutely loved the place. I love the way it is decorated, the staff was wonderful and the food was also very delicious. We had a big group and everyone enjoyed their meal. Definitely recommend the place and if I was a big Manhattan person would definitely return.
Cyntra Bernardo
Delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. We had belly dancers to entertain us. The hookah is too pricey and not worth it though. The drinks are good but also pricey. The add-ons like bottled water are absurdly priced as well. Will go back for a good Moroccan meal only.
Erika Franco
Moroccan food at this place - super good. everyone at our table was glad to be there. definitely worth a return visit. bring your hunger - portions are large. makes me feel like i in nashville again.
Todd Reynolds
moroccan food and the setting at this place is great. Food was so tasty. Prices are reasonable. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Mara Krier
We had a wonderful meal and fantastic service. This is an underrated Midtown spot that deserves a stop. The staff is extremely attentive (shout-out to Naeda) and the food is deliciously authentic Moroccan served in a traditional fashion. Don't pass it by!
Amine AA
Great food and great atmosphere! Nadia made sure we had a great time! Will be back soon!
Kirk Stumpp
A very enjoyable experience from the moment we walked in. With a friendly greeting we were brought to the table. The couscous and Tagine we ordered were memorable. The service was the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. I most heartedly recommend this gem to anyone in the mood for Moroccan.
Aimee M Hawkins
Super chill vibe in the back area. We really liked the live music -Not too loud so we could still chat and a great selection.
Faridah Ehsan
Food & Ambience were Good. We had been to Morocco early this year and thought that the Food here is as Good as in Morocco. Staff were friendly and attentive. Had fun dining & dancing with Belly Dancer. Give it a Try trying if/when you are in New York.
Nathaly Garzon
AMAZING!!! Were here for a birthday celebrations and it was one of a kind experience. Beautiful atmosphere, lights not too dimmed not too bright, decoration is beautiful, food and service was great and belly dancing was a great plus. Hookah is also available at request.
Megan
It has a hookah bar in the back which is apparently very expensive. I caught an occasional whiff of it and could hear all the dancing from where I was sitting. The decorations are cute and the ambience is nice. The mint tea was $10 per person, which I consider pretty pricey for the experience. The waiters were very attentive with us and making sure we got what we needed. The food itself was very good and sweet, but the salad was kind of weird since the cheese came in huge chunks and it was not tossed.

So I read the reviews prior to coming and decided to check it out anyway... not sure where the bad reviews are coming from? Hookah maybe? I walked in solo, bartender was friendly and attentive, I was promptly and pleasantly seated at a table and served one of the best meals I've had since I arrived in midtown for work a month ago... cozy atmosphere, no hidden charges although house cab was $14 a glass, but that's not above average for this area... if you're looking for a nice dinner spot I say go for it!

I came here for my bachelorette dinner party. EVERYONE had a blast and the food was amazing! I can't wait to go back! This place is AMAZING; atmosphere, food, belly dancing, music and EXCELLENT service.

Tremendous spot for a Birthday Celebration. Omar and his staff are really excellent and the food and service are superb. We went there last night with 8 of us and everyone loved it. Huge Success in every way. Thank you Omar.

Fabulous service, great decor. Good Moroccan food for those who like getting it in Mid-town.

A fun night to be when there is a good dancer, good for a unique experience with a group of friends and have fun. When it’s busy, it can be hard to get things you want, order everything in one shot and enjoy the rest of time.
Matan Kadosh
Beyond excellent food with exquisite flavor. Served piping hot (don’t burn your mouth!) and surrounded by Moroccan themed decor. The staff was very nice and there was also a belly dancer that made an appearance. I definitely recommend any of the tajine’s. Hope this helps!
Widnie Dumont
This restaurant was phenomenal. The wait for entrees was a bit longer than I'm use to but it was worth it. The belly dancer was phenomenal and hookah service was best Ive had.
Oh Aces
Good service, good prices. Great food, music and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back here again!
Mikhail Shlyuger
Mediocre Moroccon spot. Expensive. Quality of ingredients is good but for the price you're paying, taste is underwhelming. You can find cheaper and better elsewhere. Decor is quite nice. On the weekends they have belly dancers so that's cool. Buy a drink and watch them for a unique experience.

5 ☆☆☆☆ WELL DESERVED FOR *EVERYTHING* ABOUT THIS PLACE! First off, I called to reserve. The person who answered was very professional, friendly, and polite. Gave me all information that I wanted to know. I arrived on a Saturday Night and, was "sincerely" greeted by every person who I came in contact with. I was seated by the host and although it took me a while to order, I was always being checked on every 2-3 mins. It was my first time in a Moroccan Restaurant, and what was recommended to me was everything I was hoping for to taste! I had the "only Moroccan Red Wine" which was AMAZING! And had the Lamb Shank which I TOTALLY RECOMMEND, and the Couscous with Vegetables and Lamb. Portions were ON-POINT, Flavors were exotically delicious. There was a Belly Dancer who was SUPER ENTERTAINING and seemed to dance by PASSION! She tried to get the guests involved and dance with her. LOVED IT! Just wish it was for more than 30mins. Afterwards, there was a singer with a Moroccan style guitar which was who really made me just want to buy another bottle of wine and stayed practically ALL NIGHT! Had I not been dancing for almost the entire time being there, I would've ordered some appetizers to pick on. But that wine was just so good that I ended up just ordering another bottle instead of food. Oh well, it gives me another reason on top of the MANY REASONS, to return. By the way, the ambience was EXCELLENT as well. I cannot stress enough how much fun this place was. I also cannot compare ANY OTHER RESTAURANT (yet) in NYC that could possibly be close to better than Arabesque (generally speaking).

I love this place ! Staff are very friendly warm and welcoming. Food is delicious. Atmosphere is very romantic. Music is super exciting! The drinks are signature and in style. They even have choice to enjoy flavored hookah. Please come and enjoy this experience with your friends and family!
