Restaurant Information
For thirty-five years, Nino Selimaj has cultivated a talent like no other. With a humble beginning and a hard work ethic he has been able to do what few other restaurateurs have done, to warm his way into the hearts of most New Yorkers while establishing an incredible dedication to service and a great love for food. Over the years Selimaj has culled a large, loyal following with his magnetic personality, dashing good looks and impeccably tailored suits bearing a bejeweled American flag on his lapel. His upscale restaurants have feature extravagant dishes, fresh seafood, homemade pastas, table side cooking and live music. He garnered much attention when he introduced the first ever $1,000 pizza — topped with six different kinds of caviar and Maine lobster – at Nino’s Bellissima Pizza.
Nino considers his restaurant an extension of his home and all his patrons are treated like the most royal of guests. You are warmed by the friendliness of the staff and welcomed into their romantic yet relaxing dining room. They tend to your every need and the knowledgeable staff always has something new to recommend. Whether you want something simple like a Ceasar Salad or a more extravagant dish like the Lobster Fra Diavolo served over linguine or maybe you want to finish your meal with a little spark and your decide to order the banana flambe, they will surely impress as we prepare it all right in front of you. Don’t forget the homemade pasta selection made from scratch! Their wine list is extensive and it has something to offer to all wine lovers. Finally, the talented pianists will serenade you throughout to ensure a complete and enjoyable experience.

I had the experience in dining at Nino's last night and was very satisfied with everything. We sat near the bar on the right side and the decor of the restaurant is appealing to the eye. We enjoyed our dinner very much. The taste and presentation was delightful. I also was very pleased with the managers kindness. He was very polite and courteous which made our evening quite enjoyable. I actually dined here two years ago and was not happy with the manager. Needless to say, I took a chance in coming back because I enjoyed the food and was happy to see a new face. We will definitely be coming back soon.

very good food

It is a little pricey for the food, even for NYC. There is occasionally a piano player/performer which is nice. The ceasar salad dressing is made in front of the table. The desserts are very good.

Staying nearby I wandered into Nino's for dinner, partly attracted by the fixed price menu. The service was good, and friendly. While not outstanding the food was good and substantial and the place had an old world charm about it. On the down side I found the very tired artificial roses on each table a bit too down market and the decorations rather shabby and inconsistent HOWEVER I was astonished at the large mural on the right as you enter, some 15 years old, depicting, among many others, Bill and Hilary Clinton and Donald and Melana Trump! Not a cheap restaurant I was disappointed that whilst coffee was included on my fixed price dinner Espresso cost me an extra $5.50 which was not mentioned when I ordered it.

Great Ambiance for a romantic date in the evening or a great get together with a group of great friends. Captures the feel of an old, vintage Italian restaurant

Good food comfortable surroundings. Don't quite understand classic rock music being played over the sound system however.

Likes: interesting combo between ordering from the menu and servers walking around with food like at dim sum restaurants. Cucumber in rosemary sauce was refreshing but ok, state bird was fried with nuts and absolutely delicious and definitely a must try. grilled octopus in spicy red sauce was excellent and another favorite. chips with avocado and trout? dip was also delicious, tuna floss toast was good and crispy, beef tongue toast also excellent, pork belly with plum was crispy and fatty, string beans with lemon yogurt and blue flowers was also excellent. Wasn't too fond of the duck liver but that's just a personal preference. Peppermint tea with free refills. My favs of the night were the state bird, grilled octopus, chip dip, string beans and floss toast. Dislikes: waiting line and difficult to make reservations. Also why is tea so expensive? I could've bought a really nice box of expensive tea for the same amount.

Elegant restaurant, fine food, and great service! Nino makes you feel at home and is a most charming host. Very good pianist/singer adds a lovely dash of New York class to the surroundings. Definitely a repeat visit is in order.

Beautiful restaurant. I had dinner here and the food was only outdone by the excellent service. This is a great place for a quiet upscale dining experience. Very nice bar as well.

A very old school Italian restaurant feel with absolutely perfectly prepared food. I am very hard to impress but yet I wash on all levels.

I stopped in to Nino's by coincidence after a client meeting ending during "rush hour." I figured that I would grab a bite to eat and let traffic taper off before driving back to my office. I sat at the bar which was small, but more than large enough to eat and is located close to the entrance with a view of the main dining room so people watching while having a glass of wine or a cocktail and some food is effortless. The maitre d was warm and engaging and the entire staff from the bartender to the waiters were friendly and surprisingly "unstuffy" for a restaurant that seems to pride itself on being an old school fine Italian restaurant. There was no arrogance, and after 30 minutes I was eating, drinking and making friends. The Penne a la Vodka with grilled chicken was really good. So, if you find yourself on the East Side of Manhattan near 1st Avenue and 70th Street stop in to Nino's for some food and a drink. You won't regret it.

Great Place, with fantastic home delivery as well.

The definition of an old school upscale Italian. Great renditions of the classics (braised lamb and meatball appetizer were particularly good). Loses 1 star from inflexibility of the pulsd deal.

Old school Italian Restaurant. Cozy with a piano in the corner. Traditional Italian pasta and entree dishes that everyone from a 5year old to grandpa would find something they fancy. I tried the homemade ravioli which was cooked aldante and perfect. There was some live music too which was nice if you are out with your grand parents. A place to go if you are not adventurous.

We went at 2:30 pm had the place to ourselves. Food and service spectacular. I had the veal scallopini... Very flavorful and satisfying. He had the house made gnocci and added shrimp. It was also good, but mine was better. (Wink). In a sea of Italian food in Manhattan, this is a place we will go to again.

Great dinner. Food and service was excellent. Will be back.

This is a restaurant with a respectful attendance to your needs. The food is high quality Italian and it reminds me of the meals I was provided with from my Italian neighbors in Brooklyn where I grew up. Fresh and wonderful and love the singer and music. It's my go to for Italian. I highly recommend it for a semi formal dining experience.

The restaurant has great food and a nice ambience. The owner, Nino, is welcoming and inviting. He is also a great person, as an incident occurred between the server and my party and Nino resolved it. Be careful with one server in particular, Gustavo Orellana. However, I suggest visiting this restaurant for the food, the Italian vibe and Mr. Nino.

My husband & I were there with some old friends from N.J. The food was good but not special. We both had an Arugula salad with gorgonzola cheese. He had veal medallions & I had veal scaloppini. Both dishes were good.

We always have a wonderful time at Nino's the owner makes you feel like you are a celebrity. The food is excellent, as well as the service. There are very few restaurants now that you can enjoy fine dining. Th
